Who Said It???

"We do the price shopping, so you don't have to?"

We all want to feel like we didn't get "ripped off". Here are a few questions to ask when looking for a shredding company.

1. Are they on-site or off-site with their shredding? Will you want someone else taking your boxes of paper back to their wearhouse to shred, or do you personally want to watch the shredders do the shredding.

2. Will you be given a Certificate of Destruction? For HIPPA guidelines, it is necessary to have proof that the personal records were destroyed. Will you have to pay any more for the certificate of destruction.

3. Will the company take away the empty boxes after everything is shredded? Typically, shredding companies do not have a standard box removal. Some might offer box removal for an additional fee.

4. Is there a "truck fee"? Some shredding companies have a truck service fee for either on-site or off-site?

5. What is the per box cost to shred. Most shredding companies utilize a sliding cost scale for the cost/box. Typically, the more boxes you have, the cheaper it becomes.

6. Is there a minimum charge to shred? For some on-site companies, they will charge a minimum fee to shredd up to a certain amount of boxes.

Hope these questions help when choosing a shredding company to use?

Firm Slapped for Lack of Destruction Policies

The SEC issued a cease-and-desist order against J.P. Turner & Company over an alleged failure to adopt and implement information protection policies and procedures to safeguard customer records.

The SEC alleged that because there were no policies and procedures, the firm never gave its branch managers or registered representative’s guidance on how to protect and dispose of customer records.

A related filing indicated that the SEC's enforcement division is seeking remedial action against J.P. Turner.

Why not Just Recycle It ?

While EZ Shredding Solutions recycles everything they can after they destroy it, recycling alone does not establish the necessary requirements of information destruction such as:
  • how it was destroyed
  • where it was destroyed
  • who destroyed it
  • when it was destroyed
  • legal chain of custody
  • fiduciary obligations

As INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS we take our business and your trust seriously.

Why Use a Paper Shredding Company?

  • Employees are more productive when focused on their core responsibilities
  • Safety--even small machines could cae infury if they grab clothing or accessories
  • Reduced capital and employment expenditures
  • Employees are most likely to realize the value of discarded company info
  • Company info such as payroll, legal and employment issues, and correspondence should not be exposed to most employees
  • In-house shredding will not handle large volumes and may prompt employees to circumvent the destruction process

What Needs Shredding

Every business produces proprietary information that requires shredding once its usefulness has expired. In fact, companies are legally bound to destroy confidential documents related to their employees or clients.

When these laws are ignored and information ends up in a dumpster, a business exposes itself to the dual risk of criminal exploitation and civil prosecution-as well as the loss of credibility in the eyes of valuable clients. Protect yourself using our secure paper shredding services.

In order to mitigate risk, secure papers and documents on the personal , corporate , and client levels should be destroyed on a regular schedule, as soon as it has outlived its usefulness. Incred-A-Shred provides a secure paper shredding service.

No matter what type of data your business generates-the information you choose to protect when in use should also be protected when you discard it!
